Performs Electrocardiograms, Holter Monitoring, Stress Tests, Signal Averaging EKG’s, Event monitoring procedures, and phlebotomy.Â
Full time EKG Technicians must take the phlebotomy training in house (2-3 weeks) and pass competency.Â

Recognizes abnormal EKG reading and reports to proper person.Â
Â
Prepares EKG, Holter Monitor and stress test reports utilizing the dictaphone and typing those reports. Also copies and files reports in departmental files and patient charts.Â
Â
Prepares cardiovascular reports, by transcribing doctors interpretations, and filing on proper chart.Â
Â
Participates in in-service and continuing education and assists with Quality Assurance Surveys.Â
Â
Maintains EKG equipment and practices electrical safety.Â
Â
Performs other related duties as assignedÂ
Â
Formal Education:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
High school diploma.  Â
Preferred: One year experience and/or certificate EKG course at Career College or equivalentÂ

Experience:Â Â Â
Preferred: One year required unless the above-mentioned course has been taken.Â

Skills and abilities:Â Â Â
Preferably Certified Electrocardiology Tech or Cardiovascular Tech. Must possess skills to provide diagnostic testing to newborn, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.Â
