- Graduation from an accredited School; Master’s Degree and Clinical Licensure in their specialty required.
- Five years’ experience in clinical specialty.
- Previous Supervisory experience preferred.
- State of Florida Licensure in specialty.
- Must demonstrate clinical competency and leadership skills.Â
- Professionalism in interpersonal skills with patients, families and staff. Â
- Good organizational and computer skills.
- Serves as a liaison between members of the healthcare team, administration, Psych. Counselor’s, COTA’s, patients, families, Providers and outside agencies.
- Ensures Psych. Counselors/Patient assignments are completed daily, and that assignments are based on patient acuity and skill level of staff available.
- Performs patient rounds to ensure that needs are met and orders carried out.
- Assesses patient care via observation, interviews, performance improvement surveys, and interactions with staff. Assists with timely follow-up for occurrence reports.
- Works with manager and unit educator to plan, organize and evaluate the unit’s Mental Health Group Program.
- Assists manager with staff meetings and communication of new information to staff.
- Maintains appropriate scheduling/staffing guidelines for Therapy staff, monitors progress and identifies educational needs of new employees.
- Completes or assists with completion of formal performance evaluations for assigned staff.
- Role models excellence in patient care activities; takes patient assignment as needed.
- Supervises and assists with documentation in the patient’s medical record.
- Maintains knowledge base within area of specialty.
- Works to resolve conflicts with patients, families and staff.
- Unit expert with clinical documentation – both electronic and paper for downtime.
- Other related duties as assigned.
