Job Description

As a Security Officer Entry Screening in East Syracuse, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal in a fast-paced logistics and distribution location as an Access Control professional. In this role, you will help monitor entry and exit activity, verify credentials, and support security-related procedures while delivering outstanding customer service and communication. Working with agility, reliability, and integrity, you will be part of a caring, innovative team that helps keep daily operations running smoothly and professionally.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, drivers, and/or vendors by following site-specific security-related procedures, access control protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points at the location, verify credentials and/or visitor authorization, and help to deter unauthorized access to loading, shipping, and distribution areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business, gate areas, trailer yards, dock doors, and perimeter, noting unusual activity and reporting security-related concerns.
• Maintain accurate visitor, vehicle, and/or delivery logs, support screening processes for incoming and outgoing traffic, and follow post orders related to logistics and distribution operations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
