Job DetailsJob Location: Dearborn Heights, MI 48125Position Type: Part Time           City of Dearborn Heights Job Description Part Time Park Attendant $15-$17 per hour The City of Dearborn Heights is seeking dependable and motivated individuals to join our team as Part-Time Park Attendants. In this role, you will help maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of City parks and playgrounds while supporting community activities and events. This position works under the supervision of the Deputy Director and the Director of the Parks and Recreation Department.  Why Join Us Opportunity to work outdoors and support your local community Flexible part-time schedule Gain hands-on experience in parks and recreation operations Be apart of a team that helps create a clean and welcoming environment for residents Nature of Work Duties •     Responsible for sweeping pavilions, tennis courts, walks and main driveways. Trash pickup on City property •     Cleans and maintains comfort stations and buildings, unlocks and locks park gates (dependent on park schedule) •     Cleans cooking grills, repairs and paints benches and tables, •     Monitor Park areas and restrooms and assists park users when needed •     Moves picnic tables and rearranges as needed for rentals; prepares and maintains sports fields for activities •     Drags playing field dirt with motorized equipment for ballfield activities •     Completes supply and equipment inventories and report them to department leadership •     Performs other related tasks as directed by Parks and Recreation Department leadership  Environmental Conditions and Equipment Used •     Exposure to outdoor working conditions •     Exposure to noise and vibration that could cause distraction and/or hearing loss and/or bodily strain/harm •     Uses tools and equipment that are relative to the position, including motorized off-road vehicles, cleaning tools and supplies, field dragging equipment, trash receptacles, etc.   QualificationsMinimum Training, License, Education and Experience •     Must be a minimum of 18 years old •     Experience must be beyond short demonstration up to and including 30 days •     Ability to operate locks and keys, work without supervision and follow written/oral instructions  Specifications (Skills, Mental and Physical) •     Must have the ability to apply principles of rational systems to solve problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form •     Must be able to read at a level to understand procedures and methods related to the job, as well as communicate effectively both verbally and in writing •     Must have math ability that includes basic math •     Must be able to complete medium work that includes exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects and/or 250 pounds with assistance of another person •     Must be able to perform work duties involving reaching, handling, fine motor skills, tactile tasks, and repetitive movements •     Must have hearing to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and receive detailed information through oral communication and/or make fine distinctions in sound •     Must have visual acuity for determining accuracy, thoroughness of work and observation of general surroundings and activities  •     Must be able to adapt to changing situations, work well with others and participate in a team-oriented environment •     Must be able to be customer oriented and maintain excellent customer service        This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed, not construed as an exhaustive list of all duties that could be performed by a person in this classification.
