We are looking for a skilled and motivated Systems Engineer to join our team and play a key role in designing, defining requirements, and creating analysis methods for our ADAS Perception Systems. These systems can leverage vision, radar, ultrasonic and other technologies to help enable our products to sense the world. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the safety, convenience, and robustness of future Ford vehicles.
What you'll do...
- Develop and manage Perception System requirements.Â
- Translate feature team needs into clear, testable and traceable technical specifications.
- Initiate/support requirement peer reviews with both internal and external partners
- Partner with vendors and our hardware team to refine sensor packaging requirements.
- Define and establish comprehensive performance metrics for the Perception System, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that may include availability, accuracy, and false positive rates.
- Work with both internal & external partners to ensure verification methods are aligned to our requirements.
- Own Failure Mode Analysis actions for Perception, including authoring DFMEAs, Permanent Corrective Actions, and Systemic Prevent Recurrence.
- Explore and propose system architecture modifications to decrease application sensitivity.
- Perform root cause analysis on current generation systems to identify potential new requirements.
You'll have...
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience as a systems engineer decomposing & authoring both functional & performance requirements in the automotive, aerospace, defense, or related industry.
- Proficiency using Requirements Management tools such as DOORS, JAMA, or Polarion.
- Solid familiarity of requirement formats (EARS/INCOSE) and ASPICE levels.
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead ad-hoc teams.
- Proactive mindset with a focus on delivery.
Even better, you may have...
- Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics or related field.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and experimental design.
- 5+ years of experience as a systems engineer.Â
- 5+ years of experience delivering production hardware/embedded software.
- 5+ years of experience with ADAS perception systems (Radar, Vision, Ultrasonic, etc.).
- Familiarity with Functional Safety (ISO26262), SOTIF, and ASPICE standards.Â
- 1+ year experience with systems modeling tools (SysML/MagicDraw/Cameo Systems Modeler).

This position is a range of salary grades 7-8 and ranges from $99,600-$170,000.  Â
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.

This position is hybrid. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week.Â
