Sr. Fleet Manager – Dearborn/Inkster

Valicor Environmental Services is looking for a Fleet Manager at our Dearborn, MI facility

Our Minimum Requirements for this Position: 

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ management experience in fleet transportation/logistics/maintenance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to effectively multi-task, while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Previous budget/financial oversight responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee procurement, commissioning, maintenance, and operations of Fleet vehicles for multiple locations
  • Direct and dispatch fleet activities, including planning and scheduling driver routes
  • Establish service standards, operational controls and preventative maintenance/repair activities to maximize fleet reliability and efficiency
  • Lead regulatory, safety, and compliance activities for fleet operations
  • Adjust driver schedules and routes based on capacity to optimize runs
  • Utilize creativity and quick thinking to make decisions on last minute scheduling
  • Serve as first-line of communication for all transportation related issues
  • Work independently to resolve issues and communicate accordingly when additional input is needed
  • Provide exceptional, timely customer service to internal and external customers with respect to planning, scheduling, troubleshooting and unexpected issues
  • Remain current on DOT requirements, and other regulations as needed
  • Supervise/direct/coach/train assigned personnel; provide feedback as required
  • Address personnel matters using established policies and procedures
  • Responsible for ensuring drivers are properly trained on Company safety policies and procedures
