You’ll also contribute to establishing a robust supply chain so that we can continually produce the vehicles our customers want.

In this position... 

The Supply Chain exteriors team is currently seeking a Purchasing Manager for the Wipers commodity.  Seeking a candidate who embodies the Ford Truths, is self-motivated to deliver objectives, demonstrates integrity and willingness to collaborate with cross-functional partners, functions well in dynamic environments where inputs are subject to change, and can create/maintain strong interpersonal relationships. 

The Manager is directly responsible for windshield wipers as a Global Lead and Commodity Specialist. 

  • Lead for complex resourcing of multiple programs, which requires close cross-functional collaboration to resolve roadblocks in real time.

  • Directly responsible for on-time sourcing and cost management for the wipers commodity. 

  • Engage with cross-functional team to deliver strong quality and launch readiness across all programs. 

  • Deliver a robust and comprehensive Global Commodity Business Plan that addresses key future strategic considerations such as supplier diversification, quality, and cost planning.

What you'll do...

  • Lead for all sourcing and cost activities for the wiper commodity.

  • Deliver sourcing on-time for all new programs for wipers.

  • Negotiate cost plans with all key suppliers in support of annual savings objectives.

  • Engage with cross-functional team on critical resourcing activities to ensure parts are delivered on time and with quality.

  • Align with Cost Estimating on Optimal Cost Estimates (OCEs) for new contract negotiations.

  • Collaborate with PD and Supplier Technical Assistance to ensure supplier sites achieve key quality metrics and address any issues that arise.

You'll have...

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance or other related field of study

  • 5-8 years of experience in Supply Chain with general automotive commodity knowledge

  • Master's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance or other related field of study

  • 5-8 years of experience in Purchasing within the automotive manufacturing industry

This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $115,500-$218,100.     

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
