Job Description: | General Description Calibrates, repairs and replaces instrumentation; maintains electrical distribution system. Roles and Responsibilities - Performs maintenance on electrical and electronic equipment.
- Preventive Maintenance (PMs) cleans, repairs and replaces switchgears,
distribution panels and breakers - Terminates wiring in panels, on instruments or terminal strips
- PMs, installs, repairs and troubleshoots motors
- Uses standard testing and diagnostic equipment
- Installs and maintains lighting systems
- PMs, cleans and tests transformers
- Interprets drawings, schematics, ladder logic and wiring diagram
- Troubleshoots, PMs, cleans, repairs and replaces
standard instruments - Tunes loops as requested
- Calibrates and verifies operation of remote operated valves
- Maintains and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Maintains multi-variable controllers
- Maintains vibration analysis equipment
- Maintains control systems for prime movers
- Maintains flare control systems
- Troubleshoots instrument operations
- Interacts with operations to troubleshoot and resolve
upsets due to instrument malfunctions - Calibrates test equipment
- Calibrates quality instruments
- Interacts with engineers to fine tune multi-variable controllers
- Troubleshoots, repairs and replaces PLCs
- Programs and configures PLCs
- Changes control logic and drive parameters
- Updates PLC ladder diagrams
- Performs administrative duties.
- Reviews trouble log and determines if maintenance is needed
- Records time against work orders
- Uses SAP to locate and order parts
- Updates equipment history in SAP
- Navigates equipment specification data bases
- Performs Central Control Room equipment maintenance
- Maintains Global User Station hardware
- Troubleshoots, installs, repairs or replaces UPS
- Calibrates and maintains chlorine dioxide, oxygen sensors,
and smoke alarms; maintains records - Maintains radio equipment and PA system
- PMs, cleans, adjusts and repairs switchgears
- Tests batteries and maintains test records
- Performs maintenance on AC/DC drives .
- PMs, repairs and replaces variable speed drives
- Changes parameters on variable speed drives
- Troubleshoots using laptop and software
- Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
- Maintains a clean and well organized work area
- Attends meetings as required
- Attends training as required
- Complies with all HSSE programs, policies and procedures
- Performs special projects and miscellaneous duties as assigned

Preferred Skill Set Qualification Experience: | Education, Experience, Certifications Required: - High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Two year technical degree from an accredited institution in Instrumentation and Electrical Maintenance or other maintenance related field or 5 years’ experience in equivalent maintenance experience
- Work Key Certification; Workplace Documents (4), Graphic Literacy (4), Applied Math (4) and Applied Technology (4)
- Ability to interpret MSDSs
- Troubleshooting and problem solving capabilities
- Basic knowledge of mechanical safety
- Basic knowledge of the principles of predictive maintenance
- Basic knowledge of failure analysis techniques
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Basic PC skills
Preferred Education, Experience, Certifications - Working knowledge of PSM Mechanical Integrity guideline
- General knowledge of engineering standards, piping and equipment specifications, and materials of construction
- Basic knowledge of plant processes
- Thorough knowledge of plant equipment
