Under the direction of the Radiology Director, and Radiologist.聽 Performs imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.聽 Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis.聽 Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.聽 Operates CT / X-Ray Equipment to make quality Images / radiographs of designated body parts, utilizing the lowest possible radiation dose.聽 Responsibilities include knowledge of all CT/Radiology procedures, proper patient positioning, exposures, Utilization of PACS, implementation of patient charges, and assists physicians as required.

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions
1.聽聽聽聽 Under the direction of a Radiologist, produces high quality radiographs on all patient age groups.聽
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Explains procedure to patient.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Position and immobilize patient for procedure.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Selects appropriate technical factors for specific body part.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Review images for quality and accuracy of positioning.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Willingly helps out in Radiology or other departments within Imaging whenever the need arises.

2.聽聽聽聽 Assists Radiologist with Invasive Procedures as needed.聽
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Sets up room properly for specific procedure.聽聽
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Practices principles of聽 sterile technique
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Label items on trays in accordance with required Joint Commission standards.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Selects appropriate procedure trays/instruments needed.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Obtain images as requested by Radiologist to facilitate diagnosis of disease processes.
聽
3.聽聽聽聽 Maintain Patient and Personal safety.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Provides radiation protection to all patients as needed.聽聽
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Practices personal radiation safety measures to minimize annual occupational exposure levels.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Follows principles of good body mechanics when lifting.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Utilize appropriate transfer techniques for patient condition.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Use two (2) identifiers approved by the hospital to verify patient identity.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Utilizes lowest Dose possible in all exams.

4.聽聽聽聽 Administer appropriate Contrast media as directed by Radiologist.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Administers IV contrast as directed by Radiologist..聽
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assess patient for possible contrast media sensitivity prior to beginning venipuncture.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Performs venipuncture as required for procedures.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Proper use of Power Injector.

5.聽聽聽聽 PACS
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Completes all exams timely in PACS and EMR聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Properly performs procedure for making patient CD鈥檚, as well as verifies all information is on all CD鈥檚 before given out.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Verify that written physician order matches order in PACS.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Verifies all images are in PACS, scans any required documentation, and adds any additional information in notes section as needed

Qualifications
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:
Education:聽 High school diploma or equivalent, Graduate of an Accredited Diagnostic Imaging Program, ARRT in Radiology (CT preferred)
License, Certification and/or Registration:
ARRT(R) Required, ARRT(CT) preferred
BLS must be obtained during orientation period
聽
Experience: Minimum of one-year clinical experience in direct patient care setting preferred. Requires proficiency at a technical level not requiring constant direct supervision in CT
聽
Additional Skills/Abilities:
Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing task frequently and quickly.
Must be able to work in a team environment.
Must be able to use a computer terminal, fax machine, and copy machine.
