Manufacturing Technician IJob Description:
Summary:
Perform tasks directly related to the production duties involved with loading/unloading furnaces, loading/unloading impregnation vessels, processing billets and machined parts to be used for graphite, silicon carbides, and other specialty materials. Depending on the department a Process Technician will work with the following: conversion furnace, impregnating vessel, purity process, coating process, cure/bake furnaces and other equipment and processes related to the production of SiC and graphite.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Safely and efficiently operate various manufacturing machines and equipment, including but not limited to furnaces, drying ovens, impregnation equipment and forklifts.
Conduct quality checks at different stages of the manufacturing process to ensure products meet established quality standards and specifications.
Identify and resolve minor equipment malfunctions and participate in routine maintenance to minimize downtime and maintain equipment in optimal condition.
Maintain accurate records of production activities, including data on machine operation, product output, and quality control checks.
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
Collaborate with other team members, including engineers and production supervisors, to troubleshoot issues, optimize processes, and drive continuous improvement.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and manufacturing guidelines to consistently produce high-quality products.
Identify opportunities for process improvement, waste reduction, and increased productivity.
May be tasked with preventative maintenance, housekeeping or other duties.
Qualifications (Education, Training, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Physical Requirements):
High School Diploma or equivalent
Mechanical and/or technical experience in a manufacturing environment preferred;
Astute attention to detail to drive Safety and Quality;
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment;
Ability to perform visual checks and handle materials responsibly while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE);
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50lbs daily;
Ladder work and long periods of time standing may be needed.
Ability to pass pre-employment physical;
Experience in working in an ISO 9000/14000 environment a plus;
Dependability with flexibility to work shifts, over-time, and weekends to support business needs.
Candidate must have the capacity to comply with the federally mandated requirements of U.S. export control laws

Physical requirements of the job include:
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. as needed.
Capability to ascend and descend ladders using a three-point grip.
Frequent tasks will include squatting, kneeling, bending, reaching, and standing.
Occasional work may be required in confined workspaces.
Ability to perform hand squeezes requiring force up to 30 lbs.
Performing repetitive tasks or motions for extended periods.
Maintaining balance and coordination, especially when working on elevated platforms or in areas with uneven surfaces.
Capability to perform physically demanding tasks over extended periods, often in varying environmental conditions (e.g., hot, cold, or humid environments).
Adequate visual acuity to perform detailed inspections or precision work.
Ability to wear a full mask respirator and maintain a clean-shaven appearance to ensure proper fitting of the mask.
