Job Description:

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Training Specialist 3 at Georgia Regional Hospital – Atlanta, located in Decatur, GA.

Salary:  $55,000

Job Grade K 

Job Description:

The Training & Development Specialist 3 is responsible for assessing, planning, developing, coordinating, and delivering training for an agency. The position handles the full learning and development process and evaluates whether training achieves the intended functional or technical outcomes. 

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Assessing employee and organizational training needs.
  • Developing and delivering instructor-led and other training programs.
  • Creating training materials, presentations, course content, testing materials, and instructional resources.
  • Coordinating training sessions and learning activities.
  • Conducting research to develop appropriate training programs.
  • Updating existing training materials, policies, procedures, and course content.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of training programs and measuring learning outcomes.
  • Working with subject-matter experts and agency leadership to develop training.
  • Supporting professional and leadership development initiatives.
  • Providing presentations and facilitating training for employees.
  • Serving as a project lead on assigned training or development projects.
  • Maintaining training documentation and ensuring information remains current.
  • Performing other professional duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualification:
High school diploma or GED and three years of experience providing educational, training, or instructional services in the functional area. 

A bachelor’s degree in a related area is often listed as a preferred qualification, along with strong written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills, Microsoft Office proficiency, curriculum development, and experience conducting training.
