Below duties are required, additional duties can be added and required.
· Uses micrometer to determine ribbon thickness contour.
· Uses ream comparator to check ream.
· Measures distortion visually with the use of a zebra board or pattern comparison test equipment.
· Uses striae scope photographic equipment to evaluate transmitted distortion.
· Uses spectrophotometer to measure transmittance and color characteristics of glass.
· Uses furnace to glass bending to check bloom.
· Uses glossmeter to check the “W” coverage.
· Check top tin using baby powder.
· Check warp using a taper gage and surface plate.
· Weighs ribbon section of glass used in the calculation of tons per day.
· Check 40” caps for seeds.
· Complete surface checks using edge lights, green lights, reflective lights, transmitted lights or other designated lighting to prevent the shipment of reject quality to customers.
· Uses a scum chamber to test of tin surface for irregularities.
REQUIRES:
· Must have a high school education.
· Must have adequate working knowledge of mathematics, must have mental ability to obtain working knowledge of all equipment used and must in tactful and courteous in dealing with production personnel.
