MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Has a fundamental responsibility to ensure product safety and quality as it applies to all the duties listed below;

• Will promote a safe working environment.  Understands and adheres to all Silgan safety policies and procedures to prevent injury to self and co-workers.

• Will promote a “teamwork” atmosphere by assisting where needed in housekeeping, organizing, packing, transporting corrugated, erecting corrugated and forklift operations for production, shipping and receiving.

• Unitize finished good cartons by lot number ensuring no mixed cases.

• Run carton make up area, loading materials into carton erectors, assigning the correct cartons to production lines and housekeeping.

• Operate stretch wrappers for covering finished good products.

• With a Silgan provided forklift operator license drive fork/clamp trucks to wrap and put away finished goods.

• Use a RF scanner to produce, transfer, inquiry and scan to and from hold finished goods.

• Evaluates and takes appropriate action to maintain a safe work environment with established standards and guidelines.

• Inspect work areas and look for unsafe acts/conditions.

• Effectively use verbal and written communications.

• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

• Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and procedures.

• Assists with other duties as assigned.

• SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (if applicable): This position requires the cognitive and mental ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail. Ability to pass written testing requirements in numeric, visual, verbal comp, space visualization, and work orientation.

• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds continuously throughout the shift.

• Work involves continuous lifting, bending, reaching and twisting.
