OxyChem is seeking an experienced, self-motivated individual to join our team as an HR/Administrative Coordinator at our Deer Park PVC/KOH facility in Deer Park, Texas. This role provides comprehensive administrative support across both Deer Park PVC/KOH and Deer Park VCM HR teams, including maintaining employee records, coordinating recruitment activities, and supporting a variety of HR initiatives and projects. The ideal candidate is highly organized, communicates effectively, and takes a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to their work. 

Essential Job Duties:

  • Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and or transport our products, as our highest priority.
  • Support the Process Safety and Risk Management goals and objectives.  Participate in site-wide Process Safety and Risk Reduction activities as requested.  Look for opportunities to be the ‘fresh set of eyes’ in this area.
  • Provide attention to detail, and dedication to work in order to ensure reliability of the work site as well as high quality product.
  • Maintains and tracks disposition of discipline records. 
  • Maintains various weekly, monthly and annual reports which includes running queries to generate required data.
  • Maintains metric reporting including but not limited to headcount, outlook, attendance, double-time, upgrade, and overtime including running queries to generate required data. 
  • Maintains confidential personnel files for active, retired, and terminated employees.
  • Assist the Plant Manager with administration of company and plant policies and procedures.
  • Maintain attendance tracking for site employees.
  • Assist in employment process including, scheduling, testing, interviewing, and on-boarding.
  • Assist employees and/or family members as required during emergency situations (SSP Team Member).
  • Assist in implementation of plant EEO/Diversity philosophy.
  • Create Purchase Orders in SAP and manage corresponding invoices.
  • Regularly purchase and submit expense and Procurement Card reports for Houston administrative supplies.
  • Maintain Charitable Contributions and Community Relations budget.
  • Coordinate Roundtable Meetings and track attendance.
  • Coordinate meetings/lunches for plant business meetings and customer visits. 
  • Maintain site HR bulletin boards.
  • Generate reports as needed through the Workday and Lenel reporting systems.
  • Coordinate and support employee activities and community outreach efforts.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years HR administrative experience.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentially in all aspects of the job. 
  • Physical requirements – Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
  • Workday experience a plus.
