Deer Park Refining Limited Partnership (DPRLP) known as PEMEX Deer Park is a highly complex refinery located 18 miles east of Houston in Deer Park, TX, and is a part of the PEMEX group which is a fully integrated oil company in the Americas, working across the entire value chain: exploration, production, industrial processing/refining, logistics and marketing. PEMEX Deer Park provides a diverse and inclusive work environment that employs approximately 1000 employees with another 1200 contractors on site. The refinery’s rated capacity is 340,000 barrels per day and has the feed flexibility to process multiple grades of crudes to produce the high-quality transportation fuels the world needs. Job Summary |
This is a highly visible position with broad responsibilities for primarily external affairs planning, execution and measurement. This position reports directly to the Manager, Communications & External Affairs (& Public Information Officer “PIO”). In collaboration with the Manager, Comms & External Affairs, helps maintain robust crisis and incident response communications readiness plans, toolkits and activities, including media relations, and serves as Deputy PIO in the site’s Emergency Operating Center. On a day-to-day basis, the Sr. External Affairs Advisor works in coordination with the Manager, Comms & External Affairs, colleagues and external stakeholders to help deliver high-impact external relations and social performance initiatives and activities in the neighboring communities and industry organizations. S/he also collaborates with the Internal Communications team, as assigned, to deliver integrated communications campaigns and projects and maintain flexibility in the Communications team providing timely counsel and deliverables to meet the diverse communications and stakeholder engagement needs of the site. |
