Summary/Objective: 

The International Business Logistics Coordinator manages the flow of international shipments from origin to final delivery, ensuring accurate documentation, regulatory compliance, and timely resolution of shipping or customs issues. This role serves as a key liaison between vendors, carriers, customs brokers, and internal teams to keep cross-border logistics running smoothly. This role operates in a fast-paced environment that requires strong organizational skills. This opportunity is perfect if you want to make a significant impact in logistics management.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Serve as a liaison with the operations team in temporarily importing and exporting equipment into foreign countries
  • Partner with 3rd party ocean freight forwarders, consignees, customs brokers, and customers
  • Set up and monitor door-to-door transportation via ocean, air, rail, and truck
  • Negotiate rates and manage freight costs; develop and maintain relationships with new and existing carriers
  • Collaborate and communicate with all parties involved in the shipment and receipt of products regarding shipment-related information
  • Confirm paperwork and shipments are in compliance with all customs requirements; process all documents in accordance with requirements
  • Coordinate cargo availability and arrange pickup and delivery
  • Finalize billing and distribute documents as required
  • Review daily monitoring and shipment status reports, ensure all standards are met, and proactively report non-conformities
  • Perform and support the RFI/RFQ process as required, ensuring all communications are prompt and content is accurate
  • Perform traditional freight forwarder functions including but not limited to bookings, client invoicing, and document distribution
  • Verify and troubleshoot any issues in shipping or customs documentation, including but not limited to Proof of Delivery (POD), Bill of Lading (BOL), and customs broker filings, to ensure shipments and processes are properly followed

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of freight trucking and ocean experience within an international geography, preferably South America
  • Bilingual in Spanish (Portuguese if Brazil) for effective communication with South American partners
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage high workloads with tight deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to document complex cases clearly, with strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage technology (Microsoft Office Suite, advanced skills in Excel) and AI
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Business Administration, or related field is strongly preferred.
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional certification is preferred.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be willing and physically capable of travelling up to 10 % as required.
  • Must be capable of regularly speaking and hearing while utilizing hands to control or manipulate objects.
  • Must be capable of seeing close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be willing and capable of sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, or reaching above the shoulders. 
  • Must be willing and physically capable of lifting objects weighing up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be willing and capable in performing computer-based tasks while sitting or standing at a computer-based workstation for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to make general decisions requiring judgement and perform activities requiring sustained concentration.
