Waste Services
VLS Waste Services provides customized waste processing solutions for hazardous and non-hazardous industrial and commercial waste, including landfill diversion and sustainability programs, solidification of liquid waste, recycling, wastewater treatment, and waste sequestration.

VLS Railcar Cleaning and Repair Services division provides specialty cleaning services for difficult-to-clean products, including chemicals, hardened materials, and pressurized gases, and comprehensive repair services for certified full-service repairs, tank car qualifications, and maintenance.

VLS Marine Services division offers state-of-the-art barge cleaning, repair, and gas-free facilities for various chemical solvents and downstream petroleum products.
ROLE SUMMARY
Responsible for the proper offloading, loading, and transfer of waste materials from containers, tractor trailers and within the plant. Assist in other operational processes while ensuring safety and environmental controls.
JOB DUTIES
- Sample, analyze, and unload containers and tanker trailers of inbound waste using appropriate PPE.
- Loading outbound tanker trailers for off-site disposal. Review manifests and other paperwork for compliance and acceptability.
- Obtain material samples from units for laboratory analysis using proper safety measures.
- Visually inspects equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or the need for repairs, adjustments or assistance from the Engineering or Maintenance Department.
- Complete understanding and knowledge of Operation, Safety, and Emergency Procedures.
- Accurately record all necessary data on any transfers made at the direction of operations.
- Assist in filter press cleaning, as needed, to remove filtered materials.
- General housekeeping in process areas and operating areas using prescribed company procedures.
- Perform daily and routine inspections to ensure that our plant is a safe and compliant place to work
- Be physically capable of partaking in firefighting training provided by the Company.
- May be assisting with other units or processes, as required.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED
- Operator Training Certification from a college or technical school preferred or six months related experience as an operator and/or operations training.
- Open to working Dupont Schedule which included nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and receive detailed instructions by telephone and/or handheld radio.
