The Wire Cutter position is responsible for fulfilling all wire orders as well as maintaining inventory accuracy through proper cut and record keeping procedures.
Essential Functions
Ā
- Thoroughly examine order to accurately determine appropriate size reel and type, size and color of wire needed to complete order
- Correctly measure wire, load wire on machine and operate all machinery in a safe manner that is in compliance with company safety standards
- Utilizing company software to manage accuracy of quantity on hand, wire lengths, and bin location
- Properly label all completed wire cutes with applicable information, including customer label
- Carefully unload empty reels and reload new reels onto machine
- Maintain organization and housekeeping of wire room area
- Restock and replenish wire on wire cutting racks
- Verify accuracy of receiving documents with actual physical material brought to department by receiving associates
- Answer phone calls that come through the wire room in a courteous, polite and professional manner
- Maintaining wire cutting equipment to ensure good working condition
- Performing additional assignments per supervisorās direction

Working conditions
Work Environment
This position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters and tape dispensers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must have the ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time. Ability to utilize a computer keyboard, computer monitor, and telephone. Ability to bend, climb, push, and pull, including the ability to maneuver at heights and in tight or small places. Ability to routinely lift, carry, and otherwise transport work-related materials that frequently weigh up to 50 lbs. and that may occasionally weigh in excess of 75 lbs. Ability to use power tools and heavy machinery.
This position could require overtime to complete wire cutting and wire management.
Education and Experience
Ā
- One or more years of prior wire cutting experience
- Forklift certified required
- High School diploma required
