The Opportunity

A well-established commercial General Contractor is seeking an experienced Scheduling Manager to provide company-wide scheduling leadership and oversight across active construction projects from preconstruction through completion.

This is an excellent opportunity for a construction scheduling professional to take on a key leadership role within a project organization. The Scheduling Manager will work closely with Preconstruction, Project Managers, Superintendents, and project teams to establish consistent scheduling practices, maintain accurate project schedules, and proactively identify potential schedule risks.

The ideal candidate will have strong commercial construction scheduling experience, a deep understanding of construction sequencing and critical path methodology, and the ability to work collaboratively with both field and office teams.

The Role

The Scheduling Manager will serve as the company's primary scheduling resource, supporting project teams with baseline schedules, schedule updates, forecasting, three-week look-ahead planning, and schedule analysis.

Working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and leadership, this position will provide accurate insight into project progress, milestones, schedule performance, potential delays, and recovery strategies while helping establish standardized scheduling practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop preliminary and baseline project schedules in partnership with Preconstruction, Project Managers, and Superintendents.

  • Establish consistent scheduling standards, templates, calendars, coding structures, and procedures across the organization.

  • Review schedules for logic, sequencing, durations, milestones, procurement activities, critical path, and overall constructability.

  • Maintain accurate and current schedules throughout the project lifecycle and support regular schedule updates and progress tracking.

  • Develop realistic forecasts for project completion and major milestones while identifying schedule variances and emerging trends.

  • Monitor critical path activities and proactively identify potential schedule impacts and project delays.

  • Support Project Managers and Superintendents in developing three-week look-ahead schedules and recovery plans.

  • Serve as a scheduling resource and partner to project teams rather than operating as a separate scheduling function.

  • Facilitate schedule reviews and translate scheduling data into actionable information for project leadership.

  • Provide training and coaching to Project Managers, Superintendents, and other team members on scheduling best practices.

  • Develop and maintain company-wide scheduling reports and dashboards for executive leadership.

  • Identify recurring scheduling issues, resource constraints, project bottlenecks, and portfolio-wide trends.

  • Assist leadership in understanding upcoming workload, major milestones, and potential project impacts.

  • Analyze changes, delays, procurement issues, and other project events to evaluate potential schedule impacts.

  • Assist with recovery schedules and mitigation plans when projects begin trending behind schedule.

  • Provide schedule analysis and documentation to support project management and, when necessary, potential claims or time-extension requests.

  • Establish measurable scheduling KPIs and promote a culture of proactive planning, accountability, and schedule ownership.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of construction scheduling experience, preferably with a commercial General Contractor.

  • Experience managing schedules for complex commercial construction projects.

  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, subcontractor coordination, procurement, and field operations.

  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining baseline schedules, schedule updates, forecasts, and look-ahead schedules.

  • Proficiency with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar construction scheduling platforms.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills.

  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.

  • Experience identifying schedule risks, analyzing delays, and developing recovery strategies.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with both field and office personnel.

  • Strong ability to collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, Preconstruction teams, and executive leadership.

Work Environment

  • Based in the Deerfield Beach, Florida office.

  • Full-time role, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
