Position Summary: Specialized Applications Instructor - Technical Services will be responsible for the Polyglass specialized technical training program to approve roofing contractors’ installation crews, to meet requirements as designated by State Building Code. This role requires specialized, in-depth technical knowledge, exceptional teaching & mechanical skills, and the ability to adapt content to meet the needs of diverse learning styles in classroom, jobsite, and roof top settings. Position will also manage and maintain the catalogue of approved specialized applicators, learning programs, certification standards and requirements as well as maintaining and understanding required equipment.

Responsibilities: 

  • Creates, manages and implements specialized application instruction to Applicators, Contractors, Distributors, Building Owners, etc., the proper and correct method of utilizing specialized Polyglass products and adhesives.
  • Responsible for preparing each session utilizing all materials and equipment needed for training.
  • Manages technical workshops, hands-on training programs for all Polyglass customers (internal and external) requiring specialized product training and tool maintenance.
  • Administers and performs required Polyglass Applicator certification exams (written and hands-on). 
  • Responsible for the issuance of required Polyglass product certification cards, maintaining training records, and communicating renewal deadlines to Polyglass Approved Applicators, etc. to meet or exceed authorizing jurisdictional requirements (Building Code).
  • Manages all required materials, supplies, tools, and any other products necessary are ordered and always in stock. (Chemical, Dispensers, Nozzles, Training, Testing Materials, etc.).
  • Plans and schedules required field trainings per region, to ensure Applicators meet existing Polyglass product installation standards.
  • Partners with the Regional Technical Services Teams in any related training activities as directed by the Manager, including communicating updates or changes in process.
  • Represents Polyglass at appropriate industry functions and events, such as association events and conferences, and provides feedback and information on market and creative trends.
  • Perform trouble shooting procedures or repairs of equipment for Polyglass customers as needed.
  • Required to supply and maintain fully stocked company supplied training vehicle. 

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Requires proficiency using Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel, Outlook, Salesforce and PowerPoint.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience facilitating/training in a blended learning environment (instructor-led, hand-on, and computer-based). 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Roofing Technical Rep, Roofing Instructor, or Roofing Contractor, or any related position Roofing Industry.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, walking on pitched and flat roofs comfortably.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license, passport and a good driving record.
  • Requires the ability to use hand tools and assemble some equipment.
  • Bi-lingual in both English and Spanish, in both written and verbal formats. 
  • Be able to lift up to 75 lbs unassisted and over 76 lbs assisted.
