Job Summary:

 

The Junior Recruiter will focus primarily on high-volume field recruiting across multiple company divisions and locations. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining active candidate pipelines, conducting initial candidate screenings, and partnering with the Recruitment Manager, field recruiter, and operational leaders to support current and anticipated workforce needs.

 

The Junior Recruiter will serve as a key point of contact between candidates, recruiting, and hiring managers and will help ensure qualified candidates move efficiently through the recruitment process.

 

This is a hands-on, fast-paced position requiring strong communication, organization, initiative, and follow-through.

 

 

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing, and other duties will be assigned based on the position’s role within the business unit. 

  • Review, filter, and pre-screen field and entry-level applications daily.
  • Conduct initial phone screenings to assess candidates’ experience, qualifications, availability, compensation expectations, location, and basic position requirements.
  • Source candidates through job boards, resume databases, referrals, career fairs, community partnerships, and other recruiting channels.
  • Build and maintain active candidate pipelines for general labor, skilled field, and entry-level positions across multiple divisions and locations.
  • Proactively develop candidate pools for anticipated workforce needs, regardless of whether an immediate opening is available.
  • Maintain regular communication with qualified candidates to keep candidate pools active and engaged.
  • Partner with the Recruitment Manager and field recruiter to prioritize recruiting efforts and deploy qualified candidate pools based on operational needs.
  • Present qualified candidates and available candidate pools to Construction Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and other hiring managers for consideration.
  • Follow up with hiring managers regarding submitted candidates, interview feedback, selections, and outstanding hiring needs.
  • Maintain accurate candidate statuses and recruiting activity within the applicant tracking system and designated recruitment trackers.
  • Attend career fairs, hiring events, school events, and other recruitment activities to actively engage prospective candidates and develop candidate pipelines.
  • Support high-volume hiring initiatives and targeted recruitment campaigns.
  • Provide candidates with a professional, timely, and consistent experience throughout the recruitment process.
  • Transition selected candidates to the appropriate HR team member for pre-employment and onboarding activities.
  • Assist with recruitment workshops and New Hire Orientation as needed.
  • Perform other recruitment-related duties as assigned.





Minimum Qualifications:

  • Highschool or Equivalent
  • Excellent interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.  
  • 1–3 years of recruiting, & staffing support experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, meet strict deadlines, and manage time and priorities effectively. 
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail with a focus on error prevention. 
  • Ability to identify and meet customers’ expectations and requirements. 
  • Must be a proactive self-starter, problem solver, and effective team player.  
  • Ability to understand and follow standard operating policies and procedures. 
  • Proficient using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) 
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements in a positive and constructive manner. 
  • Bilingual in Spanish/ English (Fluent)

 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Construction industry recruiting experience.
  • Experience with high-volume field or skilled-trades recruiting.
  • Experience sourcing candidates through job boards, career fairs, referrals, and other recruiting channels.
  • Experience working with applicant tracking systems and HRIS platforms.

 

 

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Able to walk, sit, stand, bend, kneel, stretch, squat and climb.  
  • Able to travel to travel to career fairs and recruitment events 
  • Able to wear required personal protective equipment. 
  • Able to see, talk and hear in person, via phone and/or through online/video.  
  • Able to use hands and fingers in a manner that allows for use of a keyboard and phone.  
  • Able to lift & carry items up to 15 lbs.
