Description

  

A Freight Biller processes and verifies transportation invoices, ensuring accurate charges by reviewing shipping documents, applying rates/tariffs, resolving discrepancies with carriers/customers, and entering data into billing systems, requiring strong attention to detail and communication to ensure timely payments and efficient logistics operations. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Invoice Processing: Generate, audit, and process freight invoices for shipments.
  • Data Verification: Review shipping documents (BOLs, PODs, etc.) for accuracy.
  • Charge Calculation: Accurately calculate freight charges using rates, contracts, and tariffs.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate and resolve billing issues with carriers, brokers, and clients.
  • Communication: Liaise with internal teams (logistics, accounting) and external parties (carriers, customers).
  • Data Entry: Accurately input billing information into company databases and software.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain organized financial records and support payments. 

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Communication: Clear and professional for resolving issues.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with billing/logistics software.
