Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sr. Manager, Project Management & Process Improvement to join the Fortune Brands Innovations Financial Business Services Team. This role is primarily responsible for leading complex, cross-functional projects, while also applying a process improvement lens to ensure initiatives are designed efficiently, sustainably, and with measurable impact. This role is primarily responsible for continuous improvement and projects within the Financial Business Services Team, but should take on cross functional projects based on priorities and need.

The ideal candidate is a strong project leader who brings structure, governance, and execution rigor, paired with deep experience in Lean / Six Sigma methodologies to optimize outcomes. This role leads a team of 2 in support of Finance transformation and enterprise initiatives.

Location: Deerfield, IL (Flexibility to work from home Mondays and Fridays)

RESPONSIBLIITIES:

Project & Program Leadership:

  • Lead and manage complex, cross-functional projects from initiation through completion, including scope definition, work planning, resourcing, risk management, and change control.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, dependencies, and delivery milestones, ensuring alignment with Finance and enterprise priorities.
  • Establish project governance, operating cadence, and stakeholder communication plans to ensure transparency, accountability, and timely decision-making.
  • Partner with Finance and business leaders to translate strategic objectives into executable project roadmaps and measurable outcomes.
  • Monitor execution, manage risks and issues, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with expected business impact.

Process Improvement & Continuous Improvement:

  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies to project workstreams to optimize processes, eliminate waste, and improve quality and efficiency.
  • Conduct process assessments, root cause analysis, and process mapping as part of broader project initiatives.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, standardized, and sustainable beyond initial project delivery.
  • Establish metrics to measure process performance and project outcomes, using data to drive continuous improvement.

People & Stakeholder Leadership:

  • Lead and develop a team of 2, providing direction, prioritization, and coaching across project delivery and improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment, adoption, and change readiness.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field is typically required. (MBA preferred)
  • 8+ years of experience leading complex, cross-functional projects or programs, preferably within Finance, shared services, or transformation environments.
  • 3+ years of management experience are required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management disciplines (planning, execution, risk management, stakeholder management, and governance)
  • Lean / Six Sigma Black Belt required; experience applying process improvement methodologies within large-scale project delivery.
  • Experience using project and workflow management tools (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet) to manage execution and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including RCA, process mapping, and data analysis.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Additional Information

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $105,000 USD - $165,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
