Overview

Manufacturing and Lean Engineer

Supports production operations through the continuous improvement of processes and procedures. Operates with a Lean mindset, seeking to identify and resolve areas of opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies, plans, and implements activities designed to reduce costs while improving quality, safety, and delivery methods.
  • Implements and drives continuous improvement activities through the application of change management and best practices.
  • Develops Value Stream Mapping (VSM) plans for assigned facilities. Builds Kaizen plans and roadmaps for identified areas of opportunity.
  • Supports regular President’s Kaizen events.
  • Develops corrective action plans based on Lean assessments.
  • Upholds cost reduction programs to achieve annual operational savings objectives.
  • Trains colleagues on best practices for Lean techniques and methodologies. Serves as subject matter expert.
  • Monitors and audits key performance indicators (KPI’s) to ensure data is valid and accurate and makes recommendations for root cause problem-solving actions.
  • May require travel to other facilities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Job Skills Requirements

    • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Ability to clearly communicate project performance and results to Management and prepare associated presentations as needed.
    • Proficient in facilitating consensus among diverse viewpoints within a group, even amidst differing opinions.
    • Demonstrated track record of thriving in team environments and strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build rapport.

    Educational Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience required.

    Experience Requirements

    • Three years of engineering experience required.
    • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
    • Strong background in Lean manufacturing and engineering.
