Molding Process Technician

Location: Defiance, OH
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26/hour+
Shift/Schedule: 7am-4pm- will eventually work 6am-6pm

About the Role

We're hiring a Molding Process Technician responsible for setting molds and starting molders within established process guidelines. This role plays a key part in maintaining part quality, optimizing changeover times, and keeping molding operations running efficiently.

What You'll Do

Process and operate Injection Molding and Blow Molding machines
Monitor, maintain, and recommend improvements to standard molding cycle times and part quality
Launch new molds and obtain first piece approval to engineering standards
Develop and implement operating instructions in coordination with QA
Develop and manage a well-organized mold change process to optimize uptime and reduce changeover times
Program and troubleshoot injection molding robots
Handle and clean all tooling and equipment properly to avoid damage
Set molds as required by schedule and process to meet quality standards
Check parts for quality and complete required paperwork logs
Assist maintenance on injection molding, blow molding, and other processing equipment as needed

What We're Looking For

High school diploma or GED required (equivalent field experience considered)
3+ years of Process Technician experience
Knowledge of different plastic materials and their characteristics
Understanding of mold construction
Basic math skills and ability to apply them on the job
Basic computer skills; ability to work a press HMI
Robot programming and troubleshooting experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Previous forklift and crane operating experience a plus

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift 50 lbs along with other physical exertion
