Develop action plans or initiatives to build group business through analyzing current group business and devising new ways to expand assigned markets. Qualify group business, develop accurate and timely proposals, negotiate and close business, prepare and execute contracts. Maintain up to date account information in sales database. Maintains positive relationships with clients to encourage repeat business. Work with Senior Sales Manager or Director of Sales to develop marketing to groups. Prepare and maintain accurate group documents. Gather accurate contact and booking information for seamless turnover to conference services. Follow through on group direct billing requests by submitting completed credit applications to the accounting office. Maximize group revenues by evaluating guest rooms to space ratios, maintaining function space flexibility and following guidelines for group rates as outlined by the Director of Revenue or Director of Sales/Senior Sales Manager. Possess current knowledge of the resort’s group comp set. Possess current knowledge of the resort’s facilities, services and pricing. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Senior Sales Manager and/or Director of Sales. Qualifications High School diploma, and or/ college Degree or equivalent experience Proven sales and supervisory experience in resort sales and food and beverage Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel needed Delphi and Springer Miller preferred Need to have a valid drivers license Holidays/Weekends/Evenings as needed While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and/or stand; use hands to finger, hands to feel; and occasionally reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk; and talk or hear. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, Distance Vision, Color Vision, Peripheral Vision, Depth Perception and the ability to adjust focus. The position is indoors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The staff member will work in a high traffic/high volume business environment and will be required to spend a majority of their time at their desk and/or on their feet for tours.
