About the role: Â
The Warehouse Team Lead is responsible for leading daily warehouse operations while actively working alongside the team. This role ensures safety, productivity, accuracy, and adherence to company standards while serving as the first level of leadership for warehouse associates. Working closely with the Warehouse Operations Manager, the Team Lead helps see the plans turn to realities. A typical day will involve forklift use to keep the team stocked across various projects and departments, as well as jumping in to join the team hit their productivity goals.
Key Responsibilities: Â
Leadership and People ManagementÂ
- Lead, coach, and support warehouse associates during daily operationsÂ
- Coordinate with the Warehouse Operations Manager to assign daily tasks and ensure labour is aligned with workload prioritiesÂ
- Provide on-the-spot training, guidance, and corrective coachingÂ
- Model Debrand’s values, professionalism, and safe work practicesÂ
- Escalate performance, attendance, or behavioural concerns to managementÂ
- Support onboarding and training of new hiresÂ
Operational ExecutionÂ
- Oversee daily warehouse activities including but not limited to receiving, put-away, staging, and shippingÂ
- Ensure data is entered correctly to company softwareÂ
- Maintain a clean and organized floorÂ
- Step in to perform hands-on duties as neededÂ
Safety and ComplianceÂ
- Enforce all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirementsÂ
- Conduct safety checks and address hazards immediatelyÂ
- Conduct audits to ensure quality integrityÂ
- Report incidents, near-misses, and equipment issuesÂ
- Ensure compliance with company policiesÂ
Communication and ReportingÂ
- Act as the primary point of contact between associates and managementÂ
- Communicate priorities, expectations, and operational updates clearly and effectivelyÂ
- Track attendance, productivity, and daily performance metricsÂ
- Provide end-of-shift updatesÂ
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of warehouse or dock experience; lead experience preferred
- Valid forklift certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire. Previous forklift experience is required
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and shipping/receiving procedures
- Ability to input data accurately and update software in real time
- Strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams
- Basic computer skills. This role requires the use of Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, Excel) and various internal programs
- Able to lift 50+lbs and work on feet for extended periods
- High attention to detail, safety-minded, and capable of balancing multiple tasks
