RESPONSIBILITIES:                                                                                    

  • Manage all Procurement deliverable as new products transition from ideation to pilot phase and into mass production with an exceptional level of speed, quality, and performance to exceed customer expectations. 
  • Be an integral part of each Engineering project team with the resulting product being (a) having parts sourced from preferred supplier/manufacturer, (b) having a BOM and Cap Ex cost that meets business needs, (c) have a supply chain that delivers parts/products that meets market demands, and (d) maximize dual sourcing, (e) ensure material and supplier readiness for key development milestones, (f) eliminate any supply chain issues prior to product released to mass production.
  • Helps develop the prototype strategy with the engineering team and associated buyer to help quick turnaround on prototypes. Analyze the tooling needs and costs for a new product.
  • Review Supplier proposals and make appropriate recommendations. Coordinate with Regional and Global procurement teams to help mitigate supply risks.
  • Own all purchase BOM cost reporting. Track all purchase cost changes and initiate/participate in new component reduction activities to stay below price target.
  • Host Sourcing Review for business-critical projects with cross functional teams for, and follow-up to ensure identified actions gets addressed properly in a timely manner.
  • Ensure Procurement related KPIs are correctly reported, and work to drive improvements when KPIs are not met. Complete all Procurement related Gate deliverables during a new product development. Provide the Procurement vote on all relevant Gate review.
  • Lead/Participate in all NPD/NPI review meetings as required. Coordinate launch plans with EMS suppliers to meet project schedule. 
  • Other Duties as assigned. 

 

Minimum Education Level                                                                                  

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Electronic), Supply Chain Operations and/or Business  .                        

Minimum Years of Experience                                                                           

5-7 years of supply chain, Engineering, or related experience.                                                 

                                                                                                                   

Special Skills                                                                                            

  • Significant Supply Chain and Engineering background preferred, with experience in multiple disciplines (e.g., NPI, Project Management, Industrialization etc.). 
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications, engineering drawings, and bill of materials. 
  • Ability to manage multiple Projects simultaneously, team player within Procurement and cross-functional teams. 
  • Clear understanding of Supply Chain and Procurement processes and strategy with an understanding of Vertiv’s marketplace and industry business operations and standards. 
  • Ability to build forward-thinking partnerships with suppliers along with leadership skills, particularly in complex, international, and cross functional teams.
  • Experienced in working within large matrixed teams and/or organizations. Willing to work in different time zones (as required).
  • Ability to drive and accept change, continuous improvement processes.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, ERP and PLM tools.

 

Licensures/Certifications                                                                                    

Preferred:  PMP (Project Management Professional) and/or CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Chain)                                                                             

Travel Requirements                                                                             

% of Travel: 15%
