Job Summary:

The Logistics Manager works under the direction of the Director of Fleet and Logistics and is responsible for overseeing daily logistics operations, routing, scheduling, compliance, and transportation performance. This position leads departmental initiatives focused on operational efficiency, cost control, service excellence, and continuous improvement.

Using established key performance indicators (KPIs), the Logistics Manager analyzes transportation and delivery data to identify trends, improve performance, and optimize resource utilization. The role is responsible for ensuring products are delivered on time and in the most cost-effective manner while maintaining regulatory compliance and company values and standards.

The Logistics Manager provides ongoing analysis and recommendations regarding routing efficiencies, delivery irregularities, cost-reduction opportunities, and service performance. This position collaborates with internal departments to support business objectives, resolve operational challenges, and drive continuous improvement throughout the logistics network.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the overall delivery route process and program, including developing, maintaining, and analyzing K&Ms ~500 daily delivery routes. Maximizing route efficiency while supporting K&M Value #1 – Making the Customer the Most Important Person in our Business. 
  2. Oversee company fuel card program, including fuel card use, analysis, and fraud prevention.
  1. Lead, coach, and develop direct and indirect reports, fostering a highly engaged team aligned with K&M values, culture, standard operating procedures, and performance expectations.
  2. Serve as a liaison between the logistics team and other departments to ensure alignment, communication, and execution.
  3. Responsible for managing and resolving conflict in the work environment by using the company values as a guide.
  1. Provide direction and guidance regarding all aspects of the Samsara ELD Software and compliance.
  1. Oversee mapping and routing technologies, providing recommendations to improve route optimization, service levels, driver productivity, and transportation costs.
  2. Develop, monitor, and report logistics key performance indicators (KPIs), using data analysis to drive operational improvements, cost reductions, safety performance, and customer service outcomes.
  1. Develop, maintain, and oversee the process and program utilized to identify cost cutting opportunities, route irregularities, on time delivery, and inefficiencies for all daily routes and intercompany transfers
  2. Oversee various programs such as:  K&M Safe Driving Incentive Program & Missed Rest Breaks
  3. Identify, recommend, and lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance logistics efficiency, reduce operating costs, improve customer service, and support company growth objectives.
  1. Oversee driver qualification and compliance programs, including onboarding, driver files, licensing requirements, DOT compliance documentation, and audit readiness.
  1. Maintain department standard operating procedures and creating new SOPs where identified. 
  2. Manage process of maintaining driver compliance files including the process of onboarding new drivers
  3. Monitor and improve on-time delivery performance, route execution, and customer service metrics while supporting K&M's commitment to making the customer the most important person in our business.
  4. Perform other duties as appropriate and assigned.
  5. Support company goals and uphold K&M Values.

 

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

        1. Bachelor’s degree in business or supply chain management, Logistics, Business or related field
        2. 6+ years experience in logistics or distribution operations
        3. 4+ years supervisory experience
        4. Strong analytical and problem solving skills
        5. Strong communication and project management skills
