About the Job
We are seeking an Assistant Front Desk Manager to support the daily operations of the Front Office and help deliver exceptional guest experiences at The Seagate. This role works closely with the Front Office team to ensure operational efficiency, service excellence, and adherence to company standards. The ideal candidate is a hands-on hospitality professional with strong leadership skills, a passion for guest service, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced luxury environment.
What You Do:
- Assist in the selection, onboarding, training, and development of Front Office team members
- Supervise daily Front Desk operations and ensure efficient shift coverage and workflow management
- Monitor employee performance and provide coaching to drive engagement and service excellence
- Foster positive working relationships and open communication across all hotel departments
- Utilize Opera PMS, Omni Key, PBX, and other hotel systems to support daily operations
- Review guest reservations, folios, billing, and account information to ensure accuracy
- Maintain and communicate accurate room status information to appropriate departments
- Resolve guest concerns and service recovery situations promptly and professionally
- Coordinate and manage group reservations, rooming lists, and special requirements
- Review and reconcile credit limit reports and support financial accuracy within the department
- Assist in managing departmental operations within established budget guidelines
- Communicate key operational updates and shift information to incoming managers and team members
- Conduct cashier audits, verify banks, and oversee daily cash-handling procedures
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, grooming standards, and uniform requirements
- Support special projects and perform additional duties as assigned
What You Bring to the Table:
- Previous Front Office supervisory or leadership experience in a hotel environment preferred
- Strong guest service, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Marriott front office systems
- Ability to lead, coach, and motivate team members in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial and operational processes
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Professional, polished demeanor aligned with a luxury hospitality environment
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and service-focused during high-volume periods
- Commitment to upholding The Seagate's standards, policies, and guest service culture
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and extended hours as business demands
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift, carry, and push up to 50 pounds
- Ability to push carts weighing up to 250 pounds when necessary
- Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
