Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in overhaul, trouble shooting and repair of heavy equipment down to medium duty vehicles and trailers. Key Responsibilities: Repair of heavy equipment in the field, including but not limited to skidders, feller bunchers, harvesters, and masticators. Ponsse experience a plus! Safely navigate steep and uneven ground while traveling to work sites and equipment, demonstrating proficiency while repairing machinery in difficult environments as part of a team or independently. Perform routine maintenance and inspections of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. Repairs to include troubleshooting, mechanical repair, electrical repair or structural/welding. Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while on the job site. Maintain accurate records to capture parts and consumables data. Participate in safety meetings and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment. Service Truck will be provided, will need own tools. Physical Requirements: The position requires walking across very uneven and hazardous ground, often in challenging environmental conditions. Ability to climb on and off equipment with vertical rails and ladders in a safe, sound, and efficient manner is essential to perform the required duties. Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, preferably on logging or forestry equipment. Valid certificates or diploma from a reputable mechanical program or institute (if applicable). In-depth knowledge of heavy equipment systems to include fuel, electrical and hydraulic trouble shooting and repair. Ability to work in challenging environments, including steep elevations and adverse weather conditions. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
