About this Role

Title: Field Project Engineer I

 

At QISG, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Field Engineer specializing in substation projects. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the field and will be responsible for supporting electrical substations construction teams. This role requires a thorough understanding of applicable engineering principles, and the ability to work collaboratively with field leadership team to ensure the successful completion of projects. The position is required to provide technical guidance and support to QISG’s construction teams, as well as be the teams direct link back to the broader engineering team on the project.

What You'll Do

 

  • Acting as the main technical expert on site, offering guidance to construction crews and subcontractors  • Acting as a technical liaison on site, offering guidance to the project leadership team, construction crews and subcontractor
  • Ensure project adherence to engineering, design specifications, industry standards, and construction regulations
  • Support the resolution of construction issues, deviations from plans, and unforeseen challenges.
  • Coordinate with home office engineering teams for issue resolution when required
  • Review and process submittals, RFIs, and field documentation
  • Maintain accurate project documentation for field markup
  • Support plan review and approval process with local and state municipalities, as required
  • Report status of open technical issues to Lead Field Engineer
  • Performs any other duties assigned
  • Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant field experience in the construction of large high voltage substations
  • Strong technical background in the installation of electrical equipment and associated subsystems
  • Experience with high, medium, and low voltage installations, grounding, and substation design
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with project teams, clients, and regulatory entities
  • Excellent written and oral skills are required
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license not required
