Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Instruction (75%) - Teach assigned HART courses in classroom, online and HVAC laboratory environments. - Provide instruction in a hybrid learning environment combining online coursework with hands-on HVAC laboratory training. - Demonstrate installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and service procedures for HVAC and refrigeration systems. - Ensure safe work practices in laboratory settings. - Evaluate student performance through practical and written assessments. - Maintain a professional learning environment that supports student success.
- Department Collaboration (10%) - Work collaboratively with faculty and staff in the Workforce Education Department. - Follow faculty responsibilities outlined in the Faculty Handbook and College policies.
- Student Learning Assessment (10%) - Assist with measuring and reporting student learning outcomes in support of workforce education standards and accreditation requirements.
- Additional Duties (5%) - Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean or Department Chair.

- Experience- Minimum two years of field experience in HVAC, refrigeration, or electrical systems. Experience in residential or light commercial HVAC service, installation, or maintenance is preferred. Teaching or training experience is preferred but not required.
- Education- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in HVAC or closely related technical field.
- Interpersonal Skills - Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly. - Ability to engage students in hands-on learning. - Professional and collaborative attitude with students, faculty, and industry partners.
- Technical Skills - Knowledge of HVAC system components and operation. - Ability to demonstrate troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures. - Basic computer skills for instructional and administrative tasks.
- Physical Requirements Instruction in HVAC technology may require standing for extended periods, working with tools and training equipment, and demonstrating system components in laboratory environments.
- Work Environment- Instruction occurs in both classroom and HVAC laboratory/shop environments involving mechanical equipment, electrical systems, refrigeration training units, and typical shop/lab conditions.
- Schedule- Courses are delivered in a hybrid format and typically meet two to four days per week depending on the course assignment.
