POSITION SUMMARY:
A staff therapist provides evaluation and treatment of patients referred by medical staff; provides clinical expertise to the multidisciplinary therapy staff, and serves
as a resource for the physical therapy staff for clinical guidance, practice and ethics. Provides supervision for PT/PTA student education programs. Assist the
director with daily management tasks including staffing, overtime control, timekeeping, staff performance evaluations, and corrective actions. Participates in
committees. Responds as the lead to any MIDAS in areas of oversight. Oversee clinical ladder participants and program. Assume accountability and
responsibility for the provision of direct and indirect patient care. Directs and facilitates rehab staff in obtaining safe, optimal healthcare outcomes. Provides
professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.
Qualifications
- Per licensure requirement.
- Five (5) years experience as a physical therapist. Specialization or certification in specific areas of Physical Therapy
practice preferred. - Licensed by the State of Texas required. BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider course according to RQI
program guidelines must be completed during new hire orientation prior to working in a clinical setting. Must be able to
commute between facilities in a timely manner. - Strong knowledge of advanced therapy skills and competencies. Strong written, verbal and interpersonal relationship
skills. Basic computer skills.
