Texoma Medical Center is a 414-bed acute care facility located in Denison, Texas, approximately one hour north of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and just south of the Texas/Oklahoma border. More than 3,500 employees, 400 multi-specialty physicians, and over 100 volunteers have helped to support the hospital in delivering quality, patient-focused care to the Texoma region for over 50 years.

 

 

The RN- Texoma Heart Group -position is responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care duties, which include:

  • Assisting in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
  • Interviewing patients, measuring vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), venipuncture, and procedure as directed by the physician.  
  • Documentation is recorded in the Electronic Medical Record in accordance with the IPM guideline.
  • Prepares treatment rooms for the examination of patients.  Assists in covering the front desk as required. 
  • Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions, administers prescribed medications, and monitors and documents treatment progress and patient response.
  • Delegates as allowed under the Nurse Practice Act. Refers to and consults with physicians, other health providers, and community resources to prevent/resolve problems or concerns.
  • Educates patients and families about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions.

 

Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS, was formed in 2012 as the physician services unit of UHS. IPM develops and manages multi-specialty physician networks and urgent care clinics that align with UHS acute care facilities. It also provides select services for the Behavioral Health division of UHS. Through continuing growth, IPM operates in 11 markets across six states and the District of Columbia. Qualifications

Education/Certification:                                  

RN - Completion of nursing training from an accredited school of nursing. Minimum of two (2) years of college or an Associate’s Degree.  BSN preferred.

Current BLS/CPR certification required

Current state-registered nurse license

 

Work experience:                                          

Minimum of one to three (1-3) years working as a Registered Nurse required.  Three to five (3-5) years of related experience (preferred).

 

Knowledge:                                                     

General office procedures

 

Skills:                                                              

Proficiency in basic computer programs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Office

Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

 

Abilities:

 Must be able to perform courteously and professionally in all interactions

 

Equipment Operated:

Office equipment such as a fax machine, copier, and telephone system

EKG machine

Computer

 

Work environment:

Works in a well-lighted, OSHA Standard environment

May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases

May be in contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances

Occasionally subject to irregular hours

May be required to wear personal protective equipment as necessary
