Role:
The Student Engagement Specialist supports the implementation of student engagement activities and programs across all Grayson College campuses. This position hands-on event support, student interaction, and foundational program coordination while building skills in student life operations. The Specialist works closely with the Director of Student Life and Development to create welcoming and engaging campus experiences.
 Salary Range for this position is $38,865.41- $58,298.11 based on experience.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- 40% Â Event Support and Student Engagement. Provides direct support for student engagement events and activities on both the Main and South Campuses. Assists with event setup, breakdown, logistics, and on-site coordination. Ensures consistent delivery and quality of engagement opportunities across campuses.Â
- 25% Â Student Organization Support. Assists student organizations with basic needs such as event preparation, communication, and navigating processes. Supports officer onboarding and helps connect students to resources. Services as a secondary point of contact for student organization inquiries.
- 20% Â Communication and Outreach. Supports promotion of student engagement opportunities through social media, flyers, and campus communication channels. Assists with maintaining engagement calendars and sharing information with students in a clear and timely manner.Â
- 10%Â Â Operational Support. Provides support day-to-day Student Life operation, including space setup, supply organization, and coordination with campus partners. Assists with tracking attendance and basic participation data for programs.Â
- 5%   Performs other job-related duties as assigned.  Â

Knowledge and Skills:Â
Knowledge and Skills:Â
- Experience: Six months to two years of similar to related experience. Experience in student engagement, student activities, higher education, or related programming preferred.Â
- Education: (1) A two-year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
- Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Work involves frequent interaction with students, faculty, staff, and external partners. Requires strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.Â
- Other Skills: Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities; event planning experience; basic assessment and data tracking skills; proficiency with standard office and campus technology.Â
- Physical Requirements:Â Work is primarily sedentary with periods of walking, standing, lifting event materials, and moving equipment. Ability to assist with event setup and breakdown is required.Â
- Work Environment:Â Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.
