Pelham Hospitality is hiring a Full-Time Year-Round Engineer!

Position Summary:

This position performs various general maintenance tasks, including preventative and emergency maintenance to the Pelham Hospitality properties including Pelham House Resort, Pelham on Earle, Pelham on Main and Pelham on the Rise.

Engineer will inspect the grounds, buildings, furniture, and equipment in the hotel for things in need of repair or preventative maintenance as well as respond to requests for repairs to the inside or outside of the building i.e., change light bulbs and fix faucets, but may also be required to do more complex tasks such as maintaining heating and air conditioning units, working with plumbing, minor electrical. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform facilities maintenance in all guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, event spaces and outdoor spaces. 
  • Follow-up and complete work orders in a timely fashion; guest requests are the priority. 
  • Maintain project scheduling in accordance with the Director of Engineering.
  • Completes daily rounds and documents all areas reviewed as appropriate. 
  • Maintains pools and general property/grounds appearance and landscape. 
  • Completes painting projects, repair/hanging and finishing of furniture and structures. 
  • Checks electrical systems such as refrigeration controls, television sets, and lighting systems, and makes minor repairs. 
  • Checks and makes minor repairs to HVAC systems, & fixtures, such as pipelines, toilets & sinks. 
  • Performs preventative maintenance regarding plumbing and electrical systems such as checking outlets and pipe systems. 
  • Generally responsible for hotel safety, responds to all alarms and/or emergencies. 
  • Assists in maintaining a safe environment for hotel employees and guests. Responsible for safety alarm while on duty. 
  • Turns in a complete notification of all work performed daily. 
  • Maintains effective communication with all Pelham Hospitality Departments and Team Members to promote a positive work environment and maintain exemplary morale. 
  • Performs other duties assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to function well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet established deadlines
  • Must possess mature personal discretion and sound judgment
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and project management skills, with particular attention to quality and detail
  • Interpersonal skills

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 - 2 years of experience in a resort setting preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 80 pounds.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift (range from 8-12 hours).
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Work environment includes a fast-paced bar setting with varying noise levels.
  • Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age to apply.
  • Must be able to work in a kitchen environment that may involve exposure to extreme heat or cold.
