About the Role

We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Retail Yard Customer Service Representative to help keep our yard operations safe, organized, and efficient.

This is a full-time, hands-on position that combines customer service, order fulfillment, material handling, and general yard support. You will assist customers, pull and load orders, process returns, and work closely with other team members to ensure materials are handled accurately and efficiently.

This position works outdoors year-round and is ideal for someone who enjoys staying active, solving problems, and helping customers.

What You’ll Do

• Greet customers and provide friendly, professional assistance. 
• Pull, inspect, and load building materials accurately and efficiently. 
• Help customers locate products and answer general product questions. 
• Process returns and place materials in the appropriate storage areas. 
• Safely operate forklifts and other yard equipment. 
• Assist with loading and unloading delivery vehicles. 
• Inspect materials for accuracy, quality, and damage. 
• Keep the yard clean, organized, and free of safety hazards. 
• Follow all company safety procedures and equipment guidelines. 
• Communicate inventory concerns, damaged materials, and customer needs to management. 
• Support coworkers and assist in other areas as needed.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

• Previous customer service, lumberyard, warehouse, or material-handling experience is preferred. 
• Forklift experience is helpful, but training may be provided. 
• Strong communication and customer service skills. 
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team. 
• Dependable attendance and a strong commitment to workplace safety. 
• Ability to accurately identify, count, and organize materials. 
• Willingness to work outdoors throughout the year. 

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. 
• Ability to stand, walk, and remain physically active for extended periods. 
• Frequent bending, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and climbing. 
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds, with or without assistance. 
• Ability to safely operate forklifts and other yard equipment.
