This position overseas is the daily operation of the Transportation and Motor-Pool Department. Work involves coordinating and estimating repair costs and requisitioning parts and supplies. Maintains preventive maintenance records, maintains adequate cost records, mileage documentation, creates and updates work orders for facility Fleet in the State controlled database. Responsible for driver’s records, issuing license for VIC course, and voyager fuel cards for all of the Denton State Supported Living Center Fleet, assist security to ensure that all vehicle accidents are filled with Austin, and is procurement card holder. This person must be able to operate a tate vehicle for the expedition of workflow for the department having a current and valid Texas Driver’s License. Operates all types of motor vehicles in transporting supplies, and other cargo on short or long-distance hauls. Individuals will be responsible for HAZMAT including bulk storage, oils, fuels, batteries and the monthly reporting to the Safety Specialist and Director of Plant Operations. Coordinates facility dumpsters program with the city of Denton. Individuals will also be responsible for Plant Operations MSDS sheets always keeping current, bulk storage of oil fuel paint and chemicals notifying Safety Specialist when Safety Clean needs to be notified to pick up bulk waste. This position is hired by and works under the direct supervision of the Director of Plant Operations. Abides by all DSS policies and procedures as well as maintains an effective, harmonious working relationship with all staff, families, and residents. This position requires minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of independent judgment and works under direct supervision of the Plant Maintenance Manager and Director of Plant Operations.
