Under general supervision, this position will: - Supervise team of Accountants by assigning work, reviewing deliverables, providing coaching and training, and conducting initial performance evaluations.
- Serve as a resource for accounting staff regarding accounting policies, reporting requirements, and month-end close procedures.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements, supporting schedules, management reporting packages, and budget-to-actual analyses to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Coordinate and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, ensuring adherence to the financial close calendar and completion of assigned deliverables.
- Review and approve journal entries, supporting documentation, and account analyses to ensure accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP and Company policies.
- Review account reconciliations and investigate variances to ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and audit ready. Assist in the maintenance and enhancement of internal controls, accounting procedures, and reporting processes to improve efficiency and strengthen compliance.
- Oversee preparation and analysis of operating expense and capital expenditure accruals, ensuring accurate reporting of operating costs and capital activities. Partner with various groups to analyze operating results, explain cost variances, and identify key business drivers.
- Prepare and review lease operating statements, capital reports, and operational metrics used by management to evaluate asset performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS Education, Experience, Licensure (minimum level required) |
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
- Field of Study: Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field.
- At least four (4) years of related experience.
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

- Strong knowledge of GAAP with emphasis in oil and gas accounting combined with the ability to research, propose, and apply new and existing transactions to complex accounting issue.
- Working knowledge of government rules and regulations including SEC reporting requirements as well as State promulgated oil and gas commission regulations.
- Strong financial and business acumen and technical financial reporting skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply accounting standards and knowledge in an increasingly complex and dynamic environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with proficiency in Excel including PivotTables and V-Lookups.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate at all levels and disciplines of the organization.
- Able to prioritize, coordinate, and maintain multiple projects with high level of quality and productivity.
- Ability to build strong relationships and work cross functionally with internal and external teams.
- Able to help, support, and work effectively to lead a team.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES |
This role will have supervisory responsibilities over the Financial and Sr. Financial Accountants. Supervises two (2) or more Full-Time Employees regularly.
Responsible for regularly making decisions and/or recommendations concerning: - Interviewing/hiring.
- Mentoring/ongoing training.
- Setting or adjusting work hours.
- Plan, appoint, and direct the work.
- Appraise performance/productivity and efficiency.
- Recommend advancement, promotions, or other changes in status.
- Handle complaints/grievances and disciplinary issues.
