Overall Description: Prep Cooks will have a variety of duties and responsibilities to perform every shift in the kitchen. You’ll be assisting the chefs in preparing the food, maintaining a clean and safe cooking environment, and taking on culinary tasks as they arise. This position requires physical endurance as well as a flexible work schedule.

Job Responsibilities:

• Follow the prep sheets created by Prep Sheet Creator to plan duties
• Label and stock ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible; ensure all food and other items are stored and dated properly
• Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
• Prepare ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, etc.
• Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food, etc.
• Prepare simple dishes such as salads, vegetable platters, etc.
• Accept or reject ingredients from food suppliers based on their appearance and quality; inform superiors when ingredient stock is getting low or when kitchen tools do not work properly
• Clean and sanitize working surfaces, tools, utensils, and working area
• Wash prep tables and kitchen floor before closing/leaving for the evening; take trash/recycling/compost to designated receptacle outside
• Other duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
