The Tax Analyst is responsible for assisting the Tax and Compliance team to ensure WOW! remains in compliance with all aspects of transaction tax liabilities by filing accurate and timely tax returns and other reports in all states WOW! operates pursuant to federal, state, and local rules and regulations.Â

What You'll be doing:
Include but are not limited to the following:
Gather tax data electronically from billing systems and accounting software for preparation of tax return details and backup (e.g., sales and use, business and occupation, gross receipts, telecommunications)Â
File business licenses and tax payments/deposits via electronic and paper filing methodsÂ
Prepare property tax, prepaid expenses, and Tax Department specific expense accounts general ledger reconciliations and journal entriesÂ
Assist with preparing and reviewing monthly activity and vendors for consumers use tax reporting including account reconciliation and journal entriesÂ
Assist in the maintenance of the tax calendar and maintain tax calendars to ensure that commitments are timely metÂ
Support follow-up and resolution of tax notices and correspondence from federal, state and local tax authoritiesÂ
Support state and local tax audits by gathering, organizing, and providing requested documentation and information.
Administer departmental document retention and filing systems to ensure accuracy, compliance, and accessibility.
Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of departmental process improvementsÂ
Review and process customer tax exemption certificates, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
Build and maintain relations with other key departments including accounting, treasury, legal, internal audit, human resources, and the regional offices to ensure accountability for communications and encourage timely responses from business partnersÂ

Minimum Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experienceÂ
Tax transaction experience preferredÂ
Telecommunication industry experience preferredÂ
Skills and Abilities to be Successful in this Role
Understanding of compliance process and account reconciliation conceptsÂ
Able to work effectively in a fast paced, high energy work environmentÂ
Strong written and verbal communication skills and must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of personnelÂ
Able to build strong working relationships both inside and outside the organizationÂ
Goal oriented, organized thinker with strong analytical and computer skillsÂ
Able to effectively manage multiple priorities with the ability to work independently with frequent interruptions and changes in prioritiesÂ
MS Excel & Word and Adobe Professional Â
Experience with Financial software including NetSuite, Tableau, Floqast, AnyBillÂ
