Location & Schedule

This is an hourly position where you can expect to work on site at Denver International Airport up to five days a week, which will include swing and weekend shifts. All scheduling is subject to adjustment and is based on operational needs of the business.

We are looking to hire our next Airport Security Compliance Coordinator to join the DEN Team!

Airport Security is a section within the Airport Operations Division at Denver International Airport (DEN) and is comprised of two distinct units: Badging & Permitting (B&P) and Compliance & Enforcement (C&E). The Airport Security Compliance Coordinator reports to the C&E team and supports the oversight and coordination of security guard contract audits to ensure compliance with the Airport Security Program (ASP), TSA regulations, and contract requirements. This position serves as a key liaison between DEN Airport Security and security guard contractors, supporting the department's goals through compliance monitoring, performance evaluation, stakeholder engagement, invoice review, and administrative support. The Airport Security Compliance Coordinator also serves as a central point of contact for DEN departments, airport stakeholders, contractors, and TSA.

The ideal candidate is energetic, dependable, positive, and self-motivated, with the ability to exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced, regulated environment. This individual will support airport operations, projects, and contracts in a manner that promotes regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, accountability, and positive stakeholder experience. The successful candidate will possess strong communications skills both verbal and written.  Candidate must be flexible in their day-to-day activities being able to adapt priorities. Analytical and organization skills are a must for this position. Candidate must maintain exceptional attention to detail while delivering information in a productive professional manner.

As an Airport Security Compliance Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinates functional activities of the airport Security Guard contracts to ensure adherence to the Airport Security Program, TSA regulations, Denver Municipal Airport System Rules and Regulations, and the contracts.
  • Ensure contract compliance by observing, testing, and auditing guards
  • Supports the oversight of Security Guard contracts by analyzing performance data, conducting observations, audits, inspections, field testing, attending events requiring guards, invoice reviews, and providing recommendations to improve contractor performance and regulatory compliance.
  • Supports contractor training related to contract requirements, the implementation of new procedures, operational changes, and the deployment of new security technologies to ensure consistent compliance and effective operations.
  • Develops program objectives, post orders, work plans, priorities, strategies, corrective action recommendations, and process improvements to address compliance issues and support informed leadership decision-making.
  • Prepares reports, briefings, correspondence, metrics, trend analyses, and other documentation to evaluate progress, document accomplishments, identify patterns, and provide operational and statistical information for management use.
  • Attends meetings with contract management, program managers and other airport personnel.
  • Communicate with a wide range of city staff and management, outside agencies, consultants, contractors, vendors, community/business groups, and the general public to share information and resolve problems or issues
  • Serves as a liaison between Airport Security and the security contractor, while coordinating with Airport Operations federal agencies, City departments, consultants, vendors, business partners, and the public to communicate expectations, resolve operational issues, and support DEN projects and initiatives.
  • Assists with special projects, including the annual aviation security exercise, TSA audits and inspections, large scale airport events and other airport security initiatives.
  • Assist guard contract with providing access and canceling access when appropriate through IDMS.
  • Review of CCTV to evaluate guard performance.
  • Any one position may not include all duties listed; position allocation will be determined by the amount of time spent performing the essential duties above.

  • Experience interpreting and working with contracts, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements while ensuring contract compliance and accountability.

  • Demonstrated initiative with a continuous improvement mindset, identifying opportunities to enhance processes, increase efficiency, and improve contractor performance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate trends, identify compliance concerns, and develop recommendations.
  • Adaptability and the ability to support the implementation of new procedures, operational changes and security technologies.
  • Reliable and dependable, with excellent attendance, a positive outlook, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to providing exceptional service.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Education Requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
  • Experience Requirement: Two (2) years of experience coordinating and performing technical security duties on a variety of issues as needed in retail, food and beverage, commercial property, car rental, parking and ground transportation businesses, airline affairs, or a related industry.
  • Education and Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education for all classifications.
  • License/Certification Requirement: By position requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
  • Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.

Snow / Emergency Duties: Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees can be required to work extended hours and/or shifts
