Position Summary 
The Bakery Technology Manager leads the development, optimization, and commercialization of bakery new products, current products, and processes in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role exemplifies Grupo Bimbo culture starting with a people-first culture by prioritizing associate safety, engagement, and development while driving operational excellence. Through cross-functional collaboration, the manager ensures consistent product quality, efficient production, and a safe, inclusive workplace where teams can thrive. 
 
Key Responsibilities 
Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring all processes, trials, and production changes prioritize the well-being of associates 
Lead by example in reinforcing safe behaviors, hazard recognition, and compliance with all safety programs and policies 
Drive process optimization and ingredient troubleshooting across mixing, fermentation, proofing, baking, and cooling with a focus on both efficiency and ergonomic safety 
Partner with R&D to scale new products while ensuring safe, repeatable processes for production teams 
Foster a people-first environment by providing technical training, coaching, developing, and empowering team members and operators 
Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Maintenance and Engineering to create standard work that is safe, clear, and sustainable 
Lead root cause analysis on production and safety incidents, implementing corrective and preventive actions 
Support and lead plant trials, ensuring proper risk assessments and safe execution 
Evaluate new equipment and automation with alignment to product specification, quality, productivity and associate safety 
Analyze and evaluate the impact of plant trials and new products in KPIs (OEE, waste, downtime, safety metrics) and drive continuous improvement initiatives 
Promote open communication and associate engagement to identify improvement opportunities 
 
Qualifications 
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) 
5–10+ years of experience in commercial bakery or food manufacturing 
Strong understanding of baking science and large-scale production systems 
Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and associate engagement 
Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving cultural as well as operational improvements 
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools 
 
Preferred Qualifications 
Experience in high-speed bun/bread production environments 
Background implementing safety improvements in manufacturing settings 
Knowledge of ingredient functionality and shelf-life optimization 
Prior leadership or mentoring experience
