Supports and strengthens the District's Crossing Guard Program. Works in collaboration with campus safety, managers, community engagement specialists, and other partners to ensure grant compliance and the achievement of measurable goals.

What You'll Do:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • One or more years of related experience required. 
  • Works with school leaders to implement the school Crossing Guard Program in all elementary schools; provides continued support to school leaders actively participating in the program.
  • Recruits and assists with onboarding applicants, scheduling interviews with school leaders, attesting to references, and supporting new hire processes.
  • Provides onsite training and refresher training per school year for all school crossing guards.
  • Backfills positions for extended leaves of absences.
  • Collaborates with onsite school leadership and crossing guards to ensure that turning motorists yield the right of way to pedestrian school children and that children obey the traffic signals.
  • Instructs crossing guards in the proper tools to use to ensure that children have good safety habits, such as walking only with the green or walk light, using crosswalks, checking traffic before starting across the street, walking rather than running, and using the pedestrian push button where installed.
  • Develops and maintains effective communications with students, families, parents, stakeholders, and communities.
  • Ensures employee accuracy in time sheet reporting, actively reviewing time sheets on a regular basis.
  • Attends staff meetings and training sessions as scheduled.
