Job DetailsLevel: ExperiencedJob Location: Remote or Lakewood CO - Lakewood, CO 80215Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeSalary Range: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 SalaryTravel Percentage: Typical: 11 - 25%Job Shift: DayJob Category: Engineering Electrical Engineer – Data Center Substations  About the Position  As a mid level Electrical Engineer in the Data Center Substations group, you will be responsible for performing engineering design and analysis under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer. You will be responsible for supporting client projects and providing a quality deliverable that is on time and within the defined budget.  Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000 / year  The salary range above is based upon the Denver, Colorado labor market.   Essential Responsibilities  Performs detailed design on all aspects of substation electrical power systems to include one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, control and relaying schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, grounding design, general arrangement, selection of equipment, writing of equipment specifications, project and construction cost estimates, and project scheduling  Prepares computer-based models and perform power system studies on utility and industrial/commercial electrical power transmission and distribution systems, including short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, arc flash, power factor, harmonic analysis, and other related studies.  Employee should create simple hand checks to quantify the computer aided results  Develops protective relay settings.   Prepares a variety of documents and reports associated with projects including cost estimates, budget reports, proposals, and studies  Provides field assistance and troubleshooting  Checks the work of designers, drafters, and field service personnel for general quality and accuracy as required  Understands the applications of relevant Codes and Standards  Assists with client contacts and communication pertaining to specific assignments and meetings  Other duties as assigned  Must Have  Education: Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, electric power option preferred  Experience: 1 – 5 years of relevant engineering or field experience   Licensure: FE, PE is a plus, but not required  Knowledge and familiarity with substation electrical design  Experience with AutoCAD is a plus  Possesses effective written and oral communications skills  Good interpersonal and people skills  Note: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.  Work Environment  Hybrid or fully remote work model depending on location and project needs   Travel typically ranges from 15–25% and varies by project   Combination of office-based work and periodic field engagement   Benefits & Total Rewards  NEI offers a comprehensive benefits and total rewards package that include medical, dental, and vision coverage; employer-paid life insurance and long-term disability; a 401(k) with employer matching; paid time off; paid holidays; and paid parental leave. Benefits eligibility and details may vary by role and location and will be provided during the interview process.   We are a proud equal opportunity employer, and we do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship status, marital status, disability, gender identity, gender expression, veteran status, or genetic information.
