About This Opportunity

We are seeking an Engineer II who works directly with our clients to assess their operations and identify opportunities for maximizing energy efficiency and performance in industrial systems. The Engineer II takes a consultative role, gathers data, creates optimization models of industrial systems, and writes feasibility reports for energy efficiency projects, while leading overall management of projects.  The Engineer II contributes to peer support and quality control review.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Lead and manage assigned energy-efficiency projects, providing overall direction, accountability, and delivery ownership. 
  • Quantify energy savings for system/equipment improvements using established tools, spreadsheets, and accepted engineering methodologies. 
  • Work onsite with industrial clients to understand operations and equipment, identify efficiency opportunities, and recommend solutions. 
  • Communicate and report by translating complex technical findings for varied audiences and producing clear, client-ready project reports. 
  • Validate results and ensure quality/compliance through data collection/logging, utility program requirement knowledge, and peer technical review/support.

This is a full-time, exempt position located in the Denver Metro area.  There is an expectation of about 20% travel for this role. 

Qualifications

Applicants for this role are required to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or a related field of study
  • 1 -5 years of engineering experience
  • Technical knowledge of refrigeration, compressed air systems, steam systems, custom computer modeling of systems, electrical distribution system design, industrial control and data-logging of system results

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment and decision-making.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with excellent attention to detail and understanding of internal policies/procedures.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; proactive, resourceful, and highly motivated to achieve project results.

Compensation & Benefits

The full salary range for this full-time, exempt position in Denver, Colorado is $81,270 (min) - $101,640 (mid) - $122,010 (max).  At Cascade, transparency and fairness are core to how we work.
