The Role

We are looking for an experienced Financial Planner who will support a team of seven Advisors by preparing customized and comprehensive personal financial plans. The plan includes a customized analysis to address financial goals, such as retirement, college, risk management, asset allocation, and estate planning needs. After setting realistic expectations with the client, the ISG Financial Planner prepares and presents a financial plan which identifies a client's current situation, opportunities, and gaps, and advises on specific steps to meet financial goals. The Financial Planner strengthens the relationship between ISG and clients who have the need for advice on complex financial situations. You should have a strong background in client relationships, practice management, presentation and communication skills, and experience in Financial Planning deliverables. You will report to the Principal.

What You'll Do

This role is ideal for someone eager to develop technical financial planning skills while also contributing to business development. You will work with senior advisors to build comprehensive financial plans, support client relationships, and conduct client-focused meetings and presentations.

  • Prepare financial plans for prospective and existing clients.
  • The planner will be exposed to numerous advisors and clients to deliver comprehensive financial planning modules, utilizing various software and proprietary tools, as well as working with our other in-house specialists in investments, tax, estate planning, and insurance solutions.
  • This includes preparing comprehensive financial plans in Money Guide Pro, portfolio analysis, and solving other modules using custom analysis tools in excel.
  • Work with advisors and clients to gather, organize, and process data to prepare the financial planning analysis.
  • Use analytical and relationship management skills to uncover clients' needs and position the appropriate solution to meet those needs.
  • Partner with advisor to deliver a seamless client experience focusing on accuracy, timeliness, and accountability for our client's future.
  • Collaborate with advisors to develop client strategies that incorporate recommendations to each client.
  • Keep current on financial planning topics including wealth transfer strategies, complex retirement needs, Social Security, and tax planning.
  • Co-present financial planning concepts and analysis with advisors.
  • Be available as a direct one-on-one client resource for financial planning questions.

What You'll Bring

Ā You will have experience and attributes in the following areas:

  • Experience with financial planning concepts; experience delivering applicable advice and implementing their financial plan.
  • Experience with tax, advanced planning, estate and trust, and philanthropic strategies
  • Experience communicating analytical findings for a range of different audiences and the ability to simplify complex concepts for clients with different levels of investment experience
  • Work respectfully in a team environment supporting a growing advisory practice.

Required Experience

  • 2 or more years of client facing Financial Planning experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • CFPĀ® designation or passed CFP exam
  • Knowledgeable in advanced planning concepts to include personal tax, asset management, financial planning, insurance, trust and estate, and retirement planning
  • Series 65; Insurance licenses a plus
