Job Description
Offstream is looking for a talented implementation engineer to join our growing team. You will own the success of our customer implementations. This means taking a project from signed deal to a fully configured deployment on the Offstream platform. This role sits at the intersection of compliance, software implementation, and project management, and will have a direct impact on how quickly and reliably our customers can operate.
What you will do
Own the end-to-end success of MRV implementations, from kickoff through go-live, managing timelines, dependencies, and stakeholders along the way
Project-manage through change: re-scope and re-plan when requirements, registry guidance, or stakeholder priorities shift, while keeping timelines, owners, and risks clear
Translate project design documents into complete MRV plan requirements - identifying gaps, making judgment calls where the guidance is ambiguous, and writing MRV plans for registry submission
Communicate directly with registries and compliance bodies to resolve open questions and get plans approved
Configure the Offstream app to match each project's specific monitoring, reporting, and verification needs
Make judgment calls on app updates and configuration changes as project requirements evolve or compliance guidance is released
Work closely with engineering to flag where the platform needs new functionality versus where a project can be solved with configuration
Build systems that improve upon themselves so that each new project goes faster and smoother than the last
What you will bring
(If you don't meet all of these requirements, you should still apply. We want to find high-slope individuals, so if you can quickly grow into this profile we'd love to hear from you)
3+ years in an implementation, project management, or MRV/technical advisory role, ideally in carbon markets, energy, or another data-heavy regulated industry
Comfort making judgment calls under ambiguity and owning the outcome
Experience configuring or working closely with software platforms to meet customer-specific requirements
Strong project management instincts. You keep projects on track without needing to be told to and intrinsically enjoy managing many workstreams
Experience working on capital project development and/or on-the-ground operations (construction/startup/commissioning), with an ability to translate field realities into clear plans, schedules, and execution
Excitement about using AI tools to move faster, whether that's drafting MRV plans, digging through registry guidance, or configuring the app
Strong written and verbal communication skills. You'll be writing plans for registries and talking directly with customers
Passion for startups
Ease balancing multiple stakeholders along an ambiguous path to get to a final outcome
What it's like to work as an Implementation Engineer at Offstream
We are an AI native team that rarely does anything the slow, manual way by default, but we still expect a high level of rigor and expect ownership over what you produce
We believe that applying steady effort over a long period of time will result in incredible progress
Relentless ownership means we take full responsibility for outcomes: anticipating problems, driving solutions end to end, and never waiting for someone else to make progress.
The first 3 months
Month 1 - you will shadow live implementations to learn our MRV plan process, registry relationships, and app configuration end to end
Month 2 - you will independently own an implementation from kickoff to go-live
Month 3 - you will be running multiple implementations in parallel and contributing improvements to our playbooks and internal processes
What we offer
Competitive salary and equity ($100 - $160k) depending on qualifications and experience: $115k - $160k in SF, $100k - $145k in Denver
A full suite of benefits
Unlimited PTO with a minimum of 2 weeks off per year + all federal holidays and a company shut down for the week between Christmas and New Years
Location
Denver, CO - we work in an office near union station 3 days per week
San Francisco, CA - we work in an office near the 4th and King Caltrain station 3 days per week
