Full-Time | Primarily In-Office | Project Site Travel

Build More Than Designs. Help Deliver the Project.

CANUSA EPC LLC is seeking an experienced Project Engineer III to join our Denver engineering team and support upstream and midstream oil & gas projects from early definition through execution and delivery.

This is a hands on engineering and project execution role for someone who understands how facilities are actually designed, fabricated, constructed, and commissioned not just how they look on paper.

You’ll work across multiple engineering disciplines, coordinate directly with clients and vendors, support field execution, and take ownership of project scope, schedule, cost, and technical deliverables. You’ll also have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and play an active role in how projects are executed.

What You'll Do

Project Execution & Leadership

  • Plan and execute upstream and midstream oil & gas projects from definition through delivery
  • Develop project execution plans, schedules, budgets, forecasts, and progress reports
  • Coordinate engineering deliverables across process, piping, mechanical, electrical, civil, and automation disciplines
  • Track engineering, fabrication, procurement, and automation progress against project scope and schedule
  • Develop TIC estimates for greenfield and brownfield facilities
  • Manage project change control and identify impacts to scope, schedule, and cost
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, clients, and internal engineering/design teams
  • Lead project and technical coordination meetings
  • Serve as a key engineering interface with client engineering, operations, and maintenance teams
  • Support proposals, EPC estimates, and new business pursuits

Engineering & Technical

  • Develop and evaluate specifications for piping systems, compression, pumps, rotating equipment, and related facility systems
  • Develop and review Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Review piping layouts, fabrication drawings, vendor drawings, and technical submittals
  • Perform pipe sizing calculations and system evaluations
  • Size and evaluate engineered equipment and instrumentation, including PSVs, meters, and valves
  • Develop vendor requirements and monitor vendor compliance and progress
  • Perform quality reviews of engineering deliverables
  • Conduct site walks and field surveys to gather design and constructability information
  • Support field execution, inspections, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an engineer who can balance technical engineering with real-world project execution.

Required Experience

  • 4–8 years of engineering experience in upstream or midstream oil & gas, refining, or a closely related industry
  • Experience working with an EPC/EPCM firm, producer, midstream operator, or similar organization
  • Experience with engineering design, construction execution, facility operations, or a combination of these areas
  • Strong understanding of greenfield and brownfield oil & gas facility execution
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering work

Technical Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of ASME B31 piping codes and applicable oil & gas standards
  • Strong understanding of P&IDs, piping specifications, and process documentation
  • Experience with piping design, pipe sizing, and material selection
  • Familiarity with compression, pumps, and rotating equipment
  • Experience reviewing vendor drawings, technical submittals, and data books
  • Understanding of constructability, fabrication, procurement, and field logistics
  • Familiarity with process simulation tools such as ProMax and/or HYSYS
  • Working knowledge of Bluebeam

What Will Make You Successful Here

  • You take ownership of your work and follow projects through to completion.
  • You're comfortable making sound engineering decisions and escalating issues when appropriate.
  • You understand that successful engineering requires coordination between the office, fabrication shop, field, vendors, and client.
  • You can manage multiple priorities without losing sight of schedule, budget, or quality.
  • You communicate effectively with engineers, designers, operations personnel, vendors, subcontractors, and clients.
  • You're comfortable mentoring less-experienced engineers while continuing to grow your own technical and project leadership skills.

Education & Credentials

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Eligibility for Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in the U.S. preferred
  • Valid driver's license
  • Valid passport and ability to travel between the U.S. and Canada
